Live Studio Session – Depeche Mode – Heaven

Posted on 19 February 2013 by MasterDelight

At Music Gear Daily, we love watching artists and bands in their studio environment. A great way to learn about studio recording is to study videos like these for some essential techniques like mic placement, what microphones are being used, how the band is set up and playing together, what environment they are in. This is all useful stuff if you are planning your own studio recording and need some inspiration.

Remember, studio recording is an art. Every situation, every band is different and can sometimes require some out-of-the-box thinking to get the right recording.

Today we bring to you a brand new song by Depeche Mode called Heaven. It looks like they are recording in a high-rise building, super sleek look. Enjoy!

Les Claypool of Primus made this instrument famous. It’s a one stringed instrument that is ready to turn out any dance party. Because of it’s innovative playing style (getting sound by plucking, slapping or bowing while also incorporating a pitch lever and fingerboard) the whamola captures the immagination by being fun to look at, fun to play and a blast to listen too.

Check out Whamola Laboratories and find out how to get one of your own.

Moog debuts Tarus III pedals at NAMM 2010

Moog was showing off their newly unveiled update of the Taurus bass pedals. They looked great in person and it seems as if the design draws heavily from the Little Phatty line of synths. As an owner of the Little Phatty I can say that the bass sounds in the Taurus III are going to be astounding. Taurus II will be a limited quantity product with less than 1000 units produced.

From the moogmusic site: Long requested by many of our very best customers and used by the likes of Rush, The Police, Genesis, Led Zeppelin, Phil Collins, Asia, Weezer, and many more. This is a one time opportunity to own a new set with a new warranty but one absolutely faithful to the original Taurus I sound.

Moog MIDI MuRF

Posted on 17 August 2009 by diode

Moog has combined the guitar and bass MuRF pedals and added a full midi implementation in the new MF-105M. At $479 it’s definitely not cheap but it is very cool sounding.
