Studio Sessions – Recording Strand of Oaks’ Spacestation

Posted on 05 April 2013 by MasterDelight

Here’s a fantastic behind the scenes video on recording the song Spacestation by Strand of Oaks. Personally, huge fan of this guy and his group. My wife and I recently traveled over three hours to see him (and Phosphorescent). This song is especially good, I was really happy when my wife sent me the link of this video and happier still to be able to share it with all of you.

Strand of Oaks and other such recording artists have been very successful creating spaced out mixes with a full sound. In the video they explain, in detail, how they achieve this.

Live Studio Session – Depeche Mode – Heaven

Posted on 19 February 2013 by MasterDelight

At Music Gear Daily, we love watching artists and bands in their studio environment. A great way to learn about studio recording is to study videos like these for some essential techniques like mic placement, what microphones are being used, how the band is set up and playing together, what environment they are in. This is all useful stuff if you are planning your own studio recording and need some inspiration.

Remember, studio recording is an art. Every situation, every band is different and can sometimes require some out-of-the-box thinking to get the right recording.

Today we bring to you a brand new song by Depeche Mode called Heaven. It looks like they are recording in a high-rise building, super sleek look. Enjoy!
